Got up extremely early today (4am!!) to get to Ankor Wat for the sunrise. Very disappointed as it was very cloudy, but I was hoping it would still give some cool effects with the rays coming through and colours etc. It didn't really but it was really calm there sitting watching it's sillohuete and we were sitting away from everyone else so not tons of Chinese/Korean/general Asian tourists! We met back up with Bootay and went out to the womans temple which was about an hour from Ankor Wat. I really enjoyed the ride through the countryside, the landscape is so flat you can see for miles over the rain filled rice paddies! You also saw all the people who live out there, all in wooden stilted houses, some no more than shacks. This is the way most Cambodians live. We managed a couple of 'iconic' photos of some people working in the paddies, have been trying to get some good 'people' photos here, so was pleased, can't wait to edit them all when I'm home! We had some breakfast and then walked round to the womans temple which was pretty deserted which was good and so we could enjoy it ourselves and get some photos of the temple without people in it! We then went back to the main lot of temples and visited the one use in Tomb Raider, which was one of my favourites as there was so much moss covering the stones it was so green and there were literally trees growing out of the buildings it was amazing. I got pretty tired as the day wore on as it was so hot and sunny, we decided to go back to the hotel at lunch time and sat by the pool for a bit. We then met back up with our tuk tuk and went to see the sunset, it had unfortunately clouded over again, and we climbed this hill to a hill top temple which was lush as you could see Siem Reap and also Ankor Wat. We started talking to an American from orange county in California, and actually said 'Norweiga' oh dear.. We agreed to meet later on pub street. We went back to the hotel and then then went to pub street for dinner, I had lost my appetite for rice at brecky so we went for a yummy pizza. We then met our friend and chatted with some others collecting the free tshirts from the bars with a purchase of a bucket or pitcher!
