I wanted to catch everyone up on what has been going on with me since Beijing (i know i didn't write about Beijing but I will soon)! Classes have been going well, but we've been pretty bored since we returned from Beijing because not much has been happening. Two days ago I visited the Ming Tombs. It was beautiful because the leaves had changed to orange and there were huge statues of animals lined up on a long path. Last night, my friends and I went to a Chinese game show! I don't know the name of it yet, but it will be airing sometime in December! I was in the front row of the audience, while two of my friends were contestants. The contests they had to do were hillarious! One was to dress up in a giant blueberry suit while a giant hamburger hits you from the sky and makes flour fall on you. The person being hit by the hamburger was running on a spinning pedistool while throwing plastic balls at the opponent who was in front of a soccer net running on slippery, soapy plastic. We found ourselves laughing like we were 7 years old! So, if you ever find yourself watching Chinese tv and see this happening on a game show...LOOK FOR ME IN THE AUDIENCE!! The picture I put up for this blog, was at QiXia Mountain where we started at a beautiful bhuddist monestary and ended up at the top of the mountain where we could look at the Yangzi River! Of course I had to quote the famous monty python saying, "Yangzi, oh Yangzi, what a beautiful riva...." Although was anything but beautiful. The pollution at Nanjing is getting worse and worse. Today has been terrible and you can barely breath outside without tasting dirt. Luckily, it is supposed to rain tomorrow so the pollution will subside. We have only 4 weeks until our program is over and mom and Uncle Bo are coming to China! I can't wait to tour with them, but it seems like my time is getting shorter and shorter. I will hopefully be travelling to Yellow Mountain soon, and in two weeks I will be going to Suzhou, which I heard is like Venice with canals. Sorry It has taken me so long to write. Miss you all so much! See you back in the states pretty soon!
Love,
Becca
