Up at 0600 on day 2, found out they were including breakfast in our deal....I'm not usually one for breakfast but it was good! Freshly made omelette cooked to perfection, Thai chicken and veg (why not!) followed by a small custard donut and chocolate muffin...ok diet not going to plan but it was going to save us stopping for lunch.
Walked to the sky rail, purchased a day ticket and off we went to the CP. river to catch a ferry to the Grand Palace. The ferry ride was lovely, lots to see in the 20 minute ride, reminded me of Venice as it stops like a train/bus at each dock.
Arrived at the Palace, it was hectic to say the least but a moving non organised que, paid 500THB each (£10)
And off we went to see the spectacular buildings; managed to get into the Emerald Budder temple after taking our shoes off, mmmm the smell of 1000s of feet in 38c wasn't the best experience but seeing the shrine was worth it.
After a few hours of walking in the intense heat we was finished and made our way back to the dock and caught a ferry to go further up the river. We then walked to Khon San Road, a infamous road so we were told! We stopped in a bar and had Pina Colada, Singapore sling and spring rolls before making our hour and half journey back to the hotel.
Stopped in the local shop before getting to the hotel for 2 well deserved cans of Chang, local lager....we deserved it after walking 10.3 miles in the heat.
We rested, showered & power napped before heading down the road to a Thai cafe/restaurant, very filling and tasty even thou my mouth was on fire!!
