We've started our next tour and are with a nice group of germans, swiss, dutch and another Brit, together with 4 aussies that we've been with since Cape Town.
We had a great time in Zambia, staying in tents on the edge of the Luangwe river watching hippos wallow in the river; crocs sunbathing and families of elephants crossing the river.
There are no fences around the national park that is on the other side of the River and elephants can often be seen wandering through camp.
We only see cheeky monkeys trying to help themselves to camper's dinners during our stay.
We do some more game drives (hate to say that we're getting used to 5am starts!) and see lots more of the same wildlife plus several hyenas; elephant shrews; mongoose and (another) really close encounter with a lovely leopard.
We're off to Malawi now for a couple of days at a camp on a beach at Lake Malawi for some relaxation and a rest from the 7-10 hour days on the rough roads.
We still have our trip to Zanzibar and camping trip to the Serengeti to look forward to.
It's difficult to believe that we'll be home in a couple of weeks.

Banana Sounds fantastic, pleased another nice group. Hope the accommodation better than sounds? Lucky you have seen so much wild life, bet you have great pictures? See you before too long. Lol xxxxxxxxxxx
Jules Sounds awesome (even the 5am starts). Is Malawi the smoking lake ?
