Hey guys, 

We left fort Cochin on tuesday night after the village tour (which was a nice day). The train left at 12 night time and arrived in Mangalore the next morning at about 10am. We were lucky to get the train as we didnt realise there were 2 stations in Ernakulum, each with a Mangalore train at the same time. Guess what? We got the wrong one! We had to run back, grab a taxi and get to the other station. I have never been so please that a train was late before!

 On the train we had a bunk room for just us too. Was a little like our own prison cell! It was a very hot, and uncomfotable night with just a rucksack as a pillow! After arriving at Mangalore, we had another train that left at around 1pm for Gokarna. We were in 2tier air con for that, decoded as cool, and kind of ok! After travelling for about 16 hours, we arrived at Gokarna where it promptly threw it down with monsoon rain. As you can probably guess, we were less than pleased!

This morning, the weather was a little better. We went for breakfast (porridge and an amazing banana and peanut butter smoothie!), and then walked the 20minute hike to Kootle beach. It was not quite the picture postcard we had hoped unfortunatly and very deserted. Joint decision then, was get packed up and head for goa.

We got yet another train to Palolem, in Goa, Which brings me to now! We are staying in a little room right on the beach. Its really pretty, and the nicest we have had for a while! This afternoon we lay on the beach, good to be relaxing again after a couple of hectic days!
