What a beatiful yet sad place! It is really hard to believe that 60 years ago this was waste land! But after you leave the museums you have absolutely no doubt that it really happened, more horrific than I ever could have imagined! Also on the morning when leaving japan, there was an earthquake that regisitered 6.1 on the richter scale, the hotel was swaying, pretty scary stuff!! I just dribbled toothpaste!

What can I say aboutthe old capaital. It is a beautiful city with more temples, castles and shrines that I have ever seen. I really buzzing city which is nice after the quiet of sendai and Fuji. Kid had his 1st communal shower the other day! I knew you all wanted to know that! Take care

Well What can I say about Fuji San, it is huge! It stands at 3776 Metres high. Unfortunately we could not climb it as it is out of season and covered in ice! The area of Kawaguchi Ko is very pretty if a little quiet. It also didn't help that I managed to direct us to the wrong hostel and we stayed somewhere that resembled a prison camp. You had to be out by 9am and in by 9pm. The man told you when to shower "you in bath now!" and played vivaldi at high volumes ...

Just a quick message from snowy sapporo. We arrived on saturday at about 6pm after a 11hr train journey, (well split accross 3 trains) It has snowed all day here today, it is fascinating to see, I have never seen so much snow before. The only slightly annoying thing is that some things seem to be closed as it is slightly out of season. We have another day in sapporo and we will go to the winter olympic resort. Well myself and kid have now arrived in Tokyo and it is bloody raining! That was one thing I was not expecting so try not to laugh too much. I know that i would if it was the other way round! We have got 3 days in the capital and then we are off to the delights of Northern japan and the cold weather, -2 apparently, is that more laughter i hear!
