After we met our tour guide ( a nice 16 year old lady) we walked a quick tour around Sapa. After seeing a few sights we started our trek: 12 km and 6 hours to our little village.
After 30 minutes of down hill walking we started to trek and a very un-even ground. As the clouds begin to clear the bright sun presented us with the picturesque views only a post card to show.
From there we hiked the mountain side for a while and had three local ethnic ladies join us.
We launched a few questions towards the guide, learnt a bit from the area and continued down hill. Trekking through rice fields is quite the challenge in itself.
We started trekking on some very rough and steep grounds, through creeks and through some bamboo forest.
We arrived at a village at lunch and were bombed with little kids wanting us to buy local nick nack things ( they came in a sworn like blood thirsty zombies; cash instead of blood is what they wanted.
After lunch we started a short trek to our homestay ( 5 km all up hill) is short to them by the way.
After that nice little trek we made it to the house and met a Danish couple who will be spending the night with us. They were great!
We helped with the cooking, well at least the spring rolls.
We sat down and ate the tasty dinner with the family.
After the one guide introduced us to what he called "happy water" aka rice wine aka yuck!
It was more like vodka then then wine but let's just stick to it being wine.
After 10 wine shots or so we felt a little sleepy and went to bed, at 830.
