The Waltons On Tour
It turns out the public holiday in Santa Cruz was because it was the birthday of the city! To help them celebrate we went down to the river with the French couple and checked out the river party! We were advised not to go to the river as its dangerous at night but it seemed fine to me. There were loads and loads of cars in the river, which was half shallow water and half sand, we walked around for a bit then went for a couple of beers, Sarah has also been drinking lots of beer since we have been away, muchos surprise!
I tried to buy a Santa Cruz football shirt yesterday but the guy wouldn't come down to a reasonable price so I will have to find another Bolivian football team to support. The city is really relaxed and the plaza in the middle of the city is hella sweet! You can get your shoes shined or buy a fruit juice from the guys who walk around ( I had pineaple, yummy)
We have just left our hostel (Residence Bolivar) which Sarah rated highly in the "Good Hostel Guide" We are heading to Sucre in a few hours which is 18 hours away, lets hope the bus and roads are in better condition this time, the picture of the bus looked great, doubt we will be taking that one though! It only cost 70B (3.50 or so) so were not holding out for much.
