Back in Windhoek for a farewell dinner and the last night of our holiday. Not sure what we will do to beat this one. Travelled over 5000ks.

Leaving Swakopmund today for 2 more camping days before reaching Windhoek for a final night in a guest house before departure. Yesterday we saw hundreds of flamingoes in a bay 30k south of here.

2days of careful 4w driving through outstanding desert ranges. 2nd tyre in convoy destroyed today in rocky riverbed. So far we have been lucky. Resort accommodation tonight. Fabulous sunset out the lodge window.

Since leaving Etosha National Park and its high concentration of wildlife we have travelled for 3 days through the most spectacular country. Although there are still animals ( both wild & domestic) the emphasis is now on the dramatic geography. When we have wi fi in a couple of days we will post some photos as well as this blog as it is difficult to describe in words. We are both well and having the best time.
