Ok now I am on a role.
We are going backwards in the information sharing but oh well.....trying to share the experience.
Auckland was overcast but still a wonderful experience. We had a great night at Show time which is the onboard big band and dance crew. It was Hot Jazz! Wonderful!
We toured on the open air bus getting on and off at various places. Unfortunately it really was the Island of the Long White Cloud so did not go up the Space Needle. We did however go to Eden Park and past the home of the All Blacks. If anyone wants any All Black stuff please let me know.
Now some facts about Auckland. It is called the City of Sails and the reason for this there are more boat owners per capita than anywhere else in the world. Despite the weather we are experiencing, Auckland is NZs largest and warmest city that boasts a fabulous harbour and the viaduct that borders it has been deeloed inn recnt years tohourse bars, cafes and restaurat with outside tables and creative coktail menus. Just a few minutes walk is the centre of the city, where tourists ad locals shop in the boutiques of High Street and Chancery and the converted warehouses of the Britomart precinct. The newly refurbished Auckland Art Gallery is here as is Skycity, the home of the highest building in the country, the 328 metre Sky Tower. We did not go up the tower as the cloud cover was too thick.
Nathan - Dinosaur fossils were discovered in the Hawkes Bay are in 1975, suggeting that land-based dinosaurs had once upon a time lived and roamed in New Zealand!
So what else have we done other than eat. I have been to a Caribbean Dance lesson, played Trivia cards, won and lost $24 on the pokies and into the Spa often.
Very late nights as we have been staying up for the Adult Comedy shows.
Anyway I will finish now to get this off before we leave port.
Love to all
The Two Cruisers
