Day 6

The "not so" Mystical east cape.

Woke up to another beautiful sunny day, A bit cloudy but not bad at all. Today we ride the Mystical east cape around to the cool surfing town of Gisborne.

Things George has noticed about NZ (part 1)

There are SO many very cool trees here in NZ, also weird birds that I have never seen before. Though one thing that strikes me odd is... All of the beachfront houses here in NZ (that I've seen anyway) well, none of them are like million dollar beachfront homes. It seems that most of the Kiwi homes I've seen are very modest. Also , in the past 5 days have not seen many cars on the roads I've traveled (which rocks) and even less trucks. As a matter of fact, I've seen probably only about 10 trucks so far on my trip. Amazing! There are Lots of farmers here. Like I mentioned before, Tons of cows and sheep, and horses too. Also seem like a lot of people growing wineries here as well. I've aso noticed TONS of road-pizza as it were. More so then I have seen anywhere else that I've been. The hills here are unlike ANYTHING we have back home. Different shades of greens and yellows mainly, and most of the hills here have ridges running through them. Very cool looking. No wonder so many movies were shot here.

back to the Mystical cape. Oh...by mid-day its gotten cloudy and windy. no rain, but just a miserable ride the rest of the day. It happens. Oh well. I was not all that impressed with todays ride. I did see a few cool beaches again, but as the day went on, the riding was mostly through forests. After 2 hours of forest riding, it can get a bit monotonous.

I am now is Gisborne, and sitting in my motel. FREE WIFI FINALLY!!! I am going to try and upload ALL my videos tonight.

Tomorrow we ride to Lake Taupo.
