Day 9
The search for the ring, and those damn Hells Angels
I woke up this morning in Wellington, NZ and needed to haul ass to catch the big ferry to the south island. I made it to the entrance and got my bike in line with the rest of the vehicles boarding the ferry, then after about 10 mins, out of no-where came like 50 Hells angels (New Zealand chapter as it were) crusing up in their too loud harleys all butting to the front of the line like they owned the road. a******S! I couldnt believe it. These guys give biking a bad name. Total losers. Thankfully the security guards /cops at the gate made them all turn around and go to the end of the line, HAH! Nice!
I got into the Ferry, strapped down my bike and met 2 other kiwi bikers. Nevelle and Paul. Both riding superbikes, A triumph and an Aprilla. The Aprilla looked fast just standing still. Both were great bikes, and both guys great guys! So we chatted upstairs on the ferry for the 3 hour ride to the south island.
On exiting the ferry, when it was my turn to get on my bike and exit I bumped my bike into a hells angels bike. NOW....it was not MY fault the stupid D-bag parked his bike right up my ass. so as far as I was concerned...too bad..he deserved it. Though not like anything happened. A few words were said, and I did notice a half a dozen hells angels retards getting closer to me after the d-bag yelled HEY HEY HEY at me, and of course that was his call for his back up "brothers" to show up. Like I said, nothing happened. And thankfully I was not fighting the entire hells angels of this country. But man, were those guys a******s. Even the other bikers (the normal/nice ones) couldnt stand them. They just give biking a bad name.
Anyway...I was off, and riding NW to the golden bay. Which is where I am now. I rode through what I can only describe as Mtns right out of the LOTR movie. TOTaLLY epic mtns. I took pics, and have not uploaded them yet, and doubt they will look so epic on film, but I try.
Tomorrow I South to Reefton. Hopefully it wont be as windy as it was today, but all in all a good day. The North island was beautiful...now its time to experience the south.
150 miles today
1,771 total miles!
