After a gruelling 7 1/2 hours train journey through Penisular Malaysia we arrived in Kuala Lumpur. First impressions when comparing to KK in Borneo - you can see where all of Malaysias wealth ends up, as beforeus was a modern metropolis. Our B&B was more like a 3* hotel, the best yet, situated in the business district - The Golden Triangle. We were only here for one day, so our obvious goal was the famous Petronas Towers, which were built by Malaysias rich oil company Petronas in 1998 and our classed as the worlds tallest TWIN towers since 07/11. We managed to score one of the few free tickets up to the Petronas sky bridge (44th floor) which gave a descent view over the city, the main highlight however are the towers lit up at night. A true rival to any of the worlds night time city scenes. The only other thing of mention from our day in KL was the most amazing banana leaf curry. We've never had Indian food quite like it. We are sad to move on from Malaysia as the locals especially in Borneo were so friendly - always smiling and finding great hilarity in saying "Helo" despite the majority living under the poverty line, none of them seem to be trying scam you for your money. We are leaving Malaysia with a much better insight into the muslim culture.....
