Wills and James Road Trip
Day Two 16th March 2005.
We got up about 9.30 am and James cooked breakfast which consisted of fried eggs, ham and toast. Then we tried to sort out the Off Exploring Web site which took about an hour We also tried to upload some images which we had taken the previous day. So I have sent an email to site admin to try and get uploaded quicker if it is possible because it might be problem with the modem via the blue tooth phone?
It took about hour to get there Bayeux which is a beautiful town with a fantastic Cathedral. It was very cold inside but very well preserved with lots of small chapels within this impressive building. We have both seen the Bayeux tapestry some time ago, so we decided to fill are bellies with some lovely French food. I had fish and country pate followed by pepper steak and for sweet I had apple tart. James had fish soup, then pork fillets, followed by apple tart . It was very filling but we felt we would not need to cook tonight and it was very good value at 14.50 euros per person.
We decided to venture nearer to the coast on the way home and did this without the use of the laptop. The town was called 'Port-en-Bessin' which again was charming and interesting with a great harbour.
The journey home took us along the coast and whilst we tried to do it without the aid of the laptop we admitted defeat after several wrong turns. We are getting to know this tiny corner of France quite well.
We got back to the campsite about 5pm and we were both tired all this travelling is quite exhausting , James decided to have 40 winks and started this log of our events. We realised that we would have to eat again because after our lunch we were both very bloated ,but like most things the feeling goes away. Good old James rustled up a great evening meal, cheese and pear salad. Could not be better.
We also decided to watch another episode of Six Feet Under which was excellent! We thought we would bring some DVDs because not all the campsites are close to towns, reading is fine but if you want to switch off a DVD is just the perfect to wind down.
