hey everyone hope you are all well. sorry we haven't wrote for a while we tried to write this three times before but it wasn't having any of it. well we have done quiet a bit from last entry after the tongario crossing. from there we went to river valley where we got drunk played great party games (tris has the bruises to prove it!) and tris went white water rafting (law was too ill to go sob sob) we then made our way to wellington which was very windy! we caught the ferry to the south island and it was so rough it made the news headlines!! people were sick everywhere, one guy ended up in hospital it was crazy. me and tris were fine though we were watching the waves come over the top of the ferry and watching some dolphins too. also the volcano we went to a firework party on had a small eruption a few days after we were on it!! crazy crazy stuff here.
so anyway the south island is beautiful. we stayed for a few days in picton as law hurt her knee and tris didn't feel great (old age kicking in we reckon) spent our days playing mini golf!! we then went to nelson and done a two day hike through the abel tasman camping over night on a beach with only one other tent it was amazing. got up early to complete the walk as we had to do a tidal crossing to save us and hour it was great fun crossing the estuary we got soaked trying to jump over the rivers leading to the sea ( law managed to jump straight into them every time!!) it was great fun especially the boat ride back it was again so rough ( I'm begining to see a pattern here i think were jinx) and we were in a speed boat so the captain did a couple of fun turns we also saw a seal scoffing his lunch. a wicked two days.
phew....so after that we hopped back on the kiwi bus and went to nelson lakes national park where we camped for two night right on the edge of a lake on the first day they were covered in snow and looked wicked, it was bloody freezing camping though and the second night we used my pink lilo from hawaii to sleep on!! was much better then.
and then... my camera broke which is really annoying. didn't even drop it or anything it just gave up the ghost. so we arrived in westport and went straight to get a new camera which i love. it was a good price to much cheaper over here so we'll try our best to put the photos from our new camera up. i can now fit like 170 photos on instead of 30 so watch out.
so we are now in punakaiki, on the way here we stopped off at cape foulwinds where we saw a seal colony which was cool and some huge waves too. the place we are now at is famous for its pancake rocks!! so were off to see them now. so speak to you all soon.
love tris and laura
