Yesterday went on boat to Great Barrier Reef to low isles. Good day with great weather, still windy but no rain and sunny. Some disappointment as very high king tide which happens once a year and waters still quite murky. It was so high some of streets flooded with sea water. Had a go at snorkelling but had just got going when we had to go back to boat for lunch. After lunch we went in glass bottom boat - saw turtle and few other fish but not brilliant because of conditions. Went back on island to snorkel but reef now close to surface so only allowed round edge - now very low tide! They are also very strict. Some people went on another ship - 400 on boat to a platform further out. Some swam some went in a submersible - 40 at a time. They saw more than us but apparently quite claustrophobic in vessel.

Today came for last 2 days into a wonderful place in the rain forest. Went on guided walk at 4 and still very warm and humid - makes walking especially uphill hard. Lovely cool pool though and a clear river to swim in. It's called silky oaks.
