Travelled today from Perth to Yallingup which took us along the Indian Ocean. We stopped at Binningup (lots of places in this region have towns ending in "up"). It is the height of summer and children are off school and this beautiful beach was deserted. But there again there are lots of beaches around here. On Saturday beaches were deserted as it was too hot and people went to the shopping malls where there is air conditioning. We are going back to Busselt...

The picture is taken from a boat leaving Perth on the Swan River heading for Fremantle. A beautiful day a bit cooler but still 28 deg. Walked around Fremantle, had lunch and took the train back to Perth. Picture of town hall same as my dad took in 1944. Managed a swim today, so ready for dinner now!

Arrived here 12.30. Flight to Perth 3 am

Arrived after 10 hour flight. Hotel very nice here for 2 nights. It's 6pm and 35 deg. The picture shows the Waca cricket ground. Big city with lots of development going on. Looked very dry as we flew in and they have had some bush fires here too.
