Decided to start using dates as can't count the days! Another walk today with quite a climb but the views made it worthwhile. Weather lovely temperature for activity - mid 20s. Met a french couple who were from Paris but lived in Houston Texas. Marion I managed to speak french - you would have been impressed! Arrived in Launceston and did a self guided walking tour of the town - first picture of the Albert Hall - bit smaller than London but quite impressive. Rod managed to find another dahlia garden! Was surprised to find monkeys in the city garden.

Went to Dove Lake which is at the base of cradle mountain and walked round - took 2 1/2 hours and harder than we thought. Went to a sanctuary for Tasmanian devils - they are still in the wild but 85% have died in last few years because of cancer. So they have breeding programs. Also saw 2 different types of quolls - also still here but endangered. Interesting talk.

Flew to Davenport and then drove through lovely countryside reminiscent of New Zealand and the UK. Our home today is a log cabin with log fire which is lit - it was warm earlier but the nights are cold as we are quite high. Been on two one hour walks - one at dusk. Saw a wallaby with a joey in her pouch, a tiger snake, a skink, big wallaby and small one (can't remember their proper names. - and a wombat and a sick ring tailed possum.
