So as expected the bus journey from Luxor to Cairo was RUBBISH! Was promised a direct trip (I would have taken the train but it was booked solid for 4 days) but we stopped for 30 mins at midnight so had a cup of tea and watched Bad Boys 2 on the tv and when I got back on, some bloody woman had nicked my window seat!! So back in Luxor..The felucca trip was really nice and relaxing with good company too. Six of us with a whole mixture of nationalities - Irish, Aussie, Korean & German. Got bitten quite badly on the first night though so still really itchy! Only cost me 10 pounds too for a 3 day trip including food! Bargain!Arrived back in Luxor by minibus at lunchtime yesterday and have booked a bus to take me to Cairo tonight. Seriously templed out now so didn't even bother...

Was up bright and early at 3am on Wednesday morning for the trip to see Abu Simbel - yet another temple that Rameses II built to the great glory of himself! Arrogant so and so he was. Anyway, its a 3 hour bus journey to about 40km north of the Sudan border, right on Lake Nasser. It was in fact moved stone by stone up since it would have been buried under water after the Aswan dam was built. Its pretty darn impressive actually and inside (no photos allowed!) Rames...
