We left Taupo on Tuesday and drove up to Taurunga, we spent the next day here walking around the town and then drove onto Waihi. here there is a large working mine which we found about and the went to Karangahake Gorge where we slept for the night. We woke up this morning and went for an hours walk around the old mining area and through a very long tunnel. We have arrived in Whangamata today and spent the day with Joy and George. We have been for a drive and walk along the beach. The beaches here are very nice and the weather has been nice and sunny.
