Travelwithless
The photos tell the story. We were travelling along quite slow when a large wash away, collapsed, dragging one rear tyre into the ditch, tipping us over. The engine could not be turned off, as the motor began to burn sump oil, instead of diesel. The result being the motor revving until the oil was used, then overheating and this blew up the motor.
We broke a back window to get out, with the vehicle revving out of control, choking black smoke was everywhere and we were thinking it may to catch fire.
Our rescue took awhile (about 3 days in all) but it really was a big adventure, especially since we were not hurt. The rooster was towed to Cooktown then to Cairns and repairs took about 7 weeks, so we got to know Cairns pretty well.

grahamandrach Just looking at these again, it looks Like Avan is trying to get crushed here, if it had gone again, he might have been lucky and got stuck in the ditch underneath...phew...Alos the 'burnt' out foilage behind the cars exhaust must have come very close to causing a fire, in the truck, but also a bush fire... Bloody lucky our mates are still with us 'I reckon', thank your god for that!Graham xxx
