Its all happened so quick and its the last day of the European leg of our holiday, just a couple of days in Singapore left, then home.
We took the train from Nice to Monaco and return at a cost of 80 French Francs (12.20 Euro). Monaco is a tiny (about 2 sq km) independent principality nation under the rule of the Grimaldi family. It has a variety of claims to fame from its running of a Formula One Grand Prix meet to its status as a tax haven. It is possibly that it has more infamy from Prince Rainier marrying the very popular actress of the day Grace Kelly, who tragically died in a car accident near Monte Carlo.
We found it to be well presented. and "well heeled". It did seem to us though that every driver in Monte Carlo thought he was driving in the Grand Prix and that they must have had a shocking shortage of vehicle mufflers.
The must do's for Monaco are to visit the Marina and be totally overawed with the range and size of the private yachts which use Monaco as their mooring, the Monte Carlo Casino and to check out the Grimaldi's castle overlooking the harbor.
