On arriving back in Los Angeles we took a cab out to Anaheim and booked into the Anaheim Motel so as to be walking distance of Disneyland. We got in contact with Grant and Vicky from Dongara (Grant and Avan had played basketball in the same team) who were also holidaying in the USA. We arranged to meet at Disneyland and had a great day seeing the sights, and trying out the rides and getting frustrated with the queues. At one ride we thought the queue was short, but in reality when we eventually entered the building, only to find it was full of people in lines in races, that the queue was actually two stories high. The highlights were the Indiana Jones ride, the 3D display, lion king parade and the evening laser show. We finished the day with a meal together then parted company to continue our respective travels.

After we had been accosted twice for money (by dangerous looking people with fanciful stories) while walking we decided it was time to hire a car. The process was unbelievably simple and before we new it we were out in the traffic, driving on the wrong side. Hell scary, for a while Avan could only take right turns, so we sort of went places by a circular route. The only solution was to get out of the city and into the country, until Avan could learn to tame the beast.
