We got to Koh Phangan late afternoon and headed to Pool Trap Village Bungalows. Our friends Kelly and Karen (who we had met in the Cameron Highlands) had reserved us a room there. After checking in we headed to the `full moon party` beach and had a late lunch at a cafe. We headed back and had a shower then met Karen and Kelly (they were staying next door to us!) before heading off to Hat Rin village for dinner and then drinks on the beach while watching fire performers at one of the bars.

We decided that we wanted to see more of the island the next day rather than being confined to one beach, so we hired a bike and drove up the west coast of the island and visited Hat Yao and Hat Salad. The beaches were beautiful and the views from the top of the hills were unforgettable. That evening we went out with Kelly and Karen and also met our Irish friends, Kate and Dylan for some evening buckets! After stumbling in at around 3am we crashed out in bed ready for another day of sight seeing.

We awoke pretty early and got ourselves ready before scooting off on the bike again, driving to the north of the island, stopping at Phaeng Waterfall and then Chaloklam beach and Coral Bay where we ate and sunbathed for a while. That evening we watched 'Zohan' with Adam Sandler in the restaurant whilst we ate dinner.

On Wednesday we drove the bike to Hat Salad again as it was such a stunning beach and spent the day there sunbathing and swimming... whilst it was snowing in England!

The next day we headed to Koh Tao to do our PADI diving certification.
