Arrived in Saquerema late Saturday (25th) evening, checked into our hostel (which was right on the beach), then had a little walk around town before going to bed. Woke up reasonably early and had brekkie looking out to sea...which was nice, but would have been a lot nicer if the sun was shining. Unfortunately it was grey and cloudy!
We headed into town for a walk around, although it was a Sunday and was pretty deserted. We walked up to the church that had lovely views of the town and sea, and went and sat on the rocks for a while, before our bellies started rumbling and we decided it was time for lunch!
After eating, we decided we should leave Saquerema to get the bus to our next destination...Arraial do Cabo.
Again we arrived late Sunday evening in Arraial do Cabo, and after a long hunt for a pizza restaurant in the Lonely Planet guide (which nearly resulted in a row as it was meant to be a five minute walk from the hostel, and ended up taking us about an hour!), went straight to bed. The next day the sun was out (woohoo!) and we got a good few hours chilling on the beach and attempting to top up our tans! Arraial do Cabo is a small fishing village, and our hostel was located right near a very pretty beach, and about a ten minute walk from another larger surfing beach, which was nice but very windy! Monday evening, we decided to cook in and bought pasta, sauce and veg from the supermarket and rustled up a feast in the hostel kitchen! Had a bit of a scare by a big ugly cockroach, which ran over Elle´s foot (eeeek!) and then proceeded to scurry at about a million miles an hour around the kitchen before another guest managed to get it outside!! Phew!! Jess and Elle then decided to take a walk into town for a drink and game of cards while the boys chilled at the hostel, then we all headed to bed for an early start to Buzios the next day.
