Dune 45 was a huge dune in the Namib desert that we stopped to climb - exceptional view from the top (some failed to make the summit) the crazier of us descended off the steep sides and came down at an accelerated pace. All this was punctuated by roadside meal stops and evening drinking sessions with the now established team. Next stop we shared a 2 bedroom apartment with the Danish boys and ended up drinking a bottle of vodka (neat), 2 bottles of wine and a number of beers between us, finally getting to bed a about 2am, ready for a 6 am start …… but the generation gap had been well bridged.

The accommodation and food throughout was a good standard, we did however eat Mopami worms with one meal ….. not so great!
