Rachel That sounded like a fabulous time in Ella. Your hearts must have been in your mouths when they sat on the bridge dangling their legs. Fabulous bridge thoug. Ladies, you had the right idea of a tuk tuk and drinkies
re: "Ella - vation"!!Kim When I look at Louis sitting on that bridge... Wish we could do it all over again.. great blog and now back to work
re: "Ella - vation"!!Rachel Kandy looked a lot bigger than I expected it to be. What a shame about the the temple and the tooth. The evenings entertaintnent looked fun though. Thank goodness for gin.
re: Kandy and The Temple of the ToothRachel So impressed that you passes in the palm sap! I’m impressed with the ricks, climbing and temples beautiful statues. I loved the photos of the elephants with their trunks up and smiling.
re: Rocks and ElephantsRachel First photo - kayak, no rest for you two then, A very nice start to your holiday with Kim and Louis. What was the face in the tree all about?
re: The holiday begins - Kim and Louis arriveRachel What a fabulous husband you are Dan. The pool looked amazing. Love the photo in the surf. I wonder who will get home first you air the postcard. A well deserved break after all that travelling. It sounded wonderful.
re: It's all about the BeachKim Great memory of our first taste of Sri Lanka which now seems so long ago. Having more difficulty adjusting to the time difference here! X
re: The holiday begins - Kim and Louis arriveRachel OMG. 8 hours more travelling, was it the tuck tuck o4 the twin that was air conditioned with reclining seats? LOL
re: Jaffna - The most northern tip of Sri LankaRachel Eight hours on a bus, my knees couldn’t take that. At least you got to celebrate in style with a few beers and a game of pool on a roof top bar.
re: Long haul back to MandalayRachel. The picture really captured the essence of your trip. Favourites the fishermen at sunset and the wine glasses.
re: Incredible Inle LakeRachel How much better for you than man made sun screen! I’m glad to see a roof top bar was in order for some well earned R&R. I can’t tell you how disappointed I was to read that your desire to try averting was stunted in respect of the oar leg manoeuvre. Mind you as I have no sense of balance, had I tried I would have been in the water scaring the fish away! what a fascinating fact re the gardens and tomatoes. I never knew Burmese cats were nearly extinct. They are beautiful aren’t they? Gosh Heather. I’m not surprised you felt nauseous. No filter and strong no doubt. Your day adventures sound great especially them laying out a (red) carpet for you. I’m pleased there was a spot of wine tasting too. Can’t beat it. I hope you managed a couple of days R&R. Despite packing your itinerary up again it seemed a more gentle full 2 days.
re: Incredible Inle LakeRachel Great looking B&B. Love the piccie of Dan with the kids. More stunning scenery and planes. Love the gold pointy things. An amazing tree. I bet Heather loved that bus journey, not! A two day hike. I cannot get over your never ending appetite for activity. How have your knees been holding up Dan.
re: These boots were made for walking .........Rachel Just looking at the photos first. Wow wow what an interesting place. I’m not sure how I would have coped walking the plank! I was taken aback by the number of fabulous temples. An amazing site. Seeing Dan in two new guises being a Mod and a rapper, the balloons and sunsets were fabulous. My travel ideas folder has swelled over the last year, I can feel the heat, tiredness and sweaty skin followed by the lovely cooling refreshing beers,
