Its blooming freezing here. The locals have all got these bommer jackets and wooly hats and we have a hoddy and a rain coat between us.
Decided to go for the free walking tour of budapest today with some guys we met form london in the hostel ( sorry chuchy you have been replaced). We saw most fo the sights e.g st stephens basilica, parliament house, castle district. My personal favourite was the statue of the horse with the golden balls which has shiny prvates because it is considered good luck to polish the balls before exams. Basically all you need to know about budapest is that something was built, survived incasion by the turks and russians but then was partially destoyed in world war 2 ( that is the general trend anyhow).
Hungary is very odd its a mixture between turkish and russian, so for example next to the salami shop is a belly dancing costume very weired.
We were freeying so stopped for some goulash and so and then went to a hungarian bath which was amazing. We got to use the sauna and the outdoor spa it was stunning and suprisingly not as cold when we got out as i thought.
Came back and are now off to explore the budapest night life.... hopefully it will be a pleasant experience.
