Thursday 2nd December 2010 Xmas season, fake snow and all things jolly

My good ole irish friend got me tickets to see U2 live at a stadium nearby tomorrow, i've only paid $100 it's a amazing price for them and it's their last show in australia, so it promises to be a good night.

Today has been an upsetting and awful day too as someone stole my bananas! BANANAS! yes bananas, but i only bought them yesterday and i know i didnt eat 4 in one go. I was not impressed so i went to aldi and got more and treated myself to a xmas chocolate santa for 99 cents, it tastes ok actually. I needed something to make myself feel better over the fact my BANANAS had gone.

Hostel room - i have moved due to the hostel messing up my booking yesterday and putting a random in my bed, not a fit random either. So i'm now with my irish gang and a canadian, it's not that bad.

My friend Kristen from church might have found me a house for 2 months,not getting my hopes up as so far it's not worked out. I'm meeting her next wed to go for afternoon tea at the house. First australian who has wanted to do afternoon tea in some sort of way. I don't know why people find it funny that i like to have afternoon tea and read the paper and eat a cake or biscuit. It's a great excuse to watch the world go by.

Went the pub quiz with the irish, didn't win. Have watched a few films today too - the grinch and meet the parents. A little bit of chrimbo is around. I'm tempted to buy myself a xmas hat too.

Found out the interview i walked out of where there was 45 people, only 4 of them got the job. What a joke! he should have employed me, he knew he should. The people that got it weren't exactly making a massive effort on the streets today.

Met a girl from the heart foundation interview, she got the job but quit cos they messed her about. She now works for the lost dogs home and gave me contact details to see if they have jobs going. Tracy (scot) is passing my resume onto her boss to so i may have a job coming up soon, would be good to have some extra money to compensate for going to see U2. lol

Having a lazy day up until u2 though cos wina is coming tomorrow for a fun packed weekend and kristen is taking me to a cell group barby on monday at pastor sunnys house. Should be fun, i haven't been church for a couple of weeks or to the last cell due to doing other things so they prob think i'm very unsociable. I wonder if i'm supposed to take anything?! hmm...

U2 U2 U2 U2 U2 U2 were amazing so amazing that i didn't achieve much that day because i was excited. lol Took photos and got very drunk, beer was actually quite cheap.

Saturday 4th December 2010

My sisters birthday and winas arrival and i felt very very ill. :(

Spent my morning recovering from the night before, i really didn't feel very clever at all. Met Wina in the afternoon for dinner and then went partying, wont include some of the bits inbetween as you wouldn't want to know. We went to our fave restaurant Shanghai dumplings and then to Cookies nightclub and New Guernica. The last one is a techno/house sort of dance place, good fun and random. Another late night but i only drank 2 wines tonight, i literally couldn't stomach more alcohol.

Sunday 5th December 2010

Wina and I hit the market early to buy some good healthy fresh food and made enough salad to feed an army. Had lunch and chilled at nomads - i miss the posh hostel where everything was clean and nice and chilled. Spent time at St.Kilda beach and the irish and german joined us for food, we didn't eat that healthily. Saw the penguins at the pier, unfortunately about 25 other people had the same idea.

The weekend went far too fast and Wina went home on monday early. decided not to drink till thursday, it can be done i will prove it.

Monday 6th December 2010

Today was a bit of a boring day, my best aussie friend had gone and I was back to just me and randoms yay. I do love travelling on my own, i can be a grumpy git whenever I want woohoo. Didn't go the barby as i wasn't really in the mood, had a healthy day though eating salad and watched some films.

Job hunting day - Probably about time I did something about that. Applied for several jobs, rang a few contacts, got an interview for wed. Did something else today but I can't remember. I'm sure my day was a little bit exciting, but maybe it wasn't. lol

Job interview went well, said theyl let me know tomorrow. Wentt o habour town shopping and for lunch with clem, met my first aussie santa, he was very skinny. Obviously he hasn't had any mince pies yet. Spent my eve chilling.

Job people didn't call. I got mail though woo, so exciting to get xmas cards. I need to get out more my life sounds really sad. today was a good day and totally random at that, I've booked a haircut for half price at a good salon as my hair is annoying me. I'm praying that they don't wreck it because jen will kill me if they do. I'm hoping the fact it's a good salon and not got backpacker deals that it should work out ok. Met up with Kristen and went for dinner at the house. Loved the house and my new aussie housemates and i'm moving in on monday. i really didn't need much convincing, i'm more than ready to get out of hostels. I will be there about 6 weeks at least and it's cheap but good. yay i'm so happy, I can eat healthily and stop drinking for a while and maybe work like a normal person. woo. Joined the gang at the pub for the end of the quiz, bad idea, i got very drunk very easily.

I'm never ever drinking again, I have not felt this ill in ages. i never got the phone call so i'm guessing i didn't get the job which is a shame cos i actually did like the idea of that job. today i skyped mum and dad whilst still drunk, luckily they were ok with that and found me funny i think. I will not be drinking like this when i get a house, i will calm down.

Eve - drank with the girls for a bit. Cannot believe my friend Tracy (scot) is leaving in a week, mwah i shall miss her.

Saturday 11th December 2010

Skyped Heidi and rowlf. Went for an early morning walk to check out the fair trade festival and then went back to bed for a power nap. Met up with Natalie for dinner, had not felt well on and off all day though. I'm sure this hostel has hygiene issues and that is why i keep getting a bad stomache. I cannot wait to live somewhere less tacky and smelly.

Sunday 12th December 2010

Went to the markets in the rain/sun and had a healthy lunch. Went to church which was good even with the odd communion, didn't really know anyone though. Decided i'm going to try a different church for christmas carols as i need something traditional for xmas. Move out day 2mo im excited/anxious for the next part of my adventure, but i'm, more than ready to move away from hostel life. I've been in hostels just under 2 months minus the days i went to moggs creek, it's soul destroying!
