Tuesday 25th January 2011

Guess what? - a day of job hunting and some tennis on tv too. A pre-Australia day barby at the house too, was a good chance to learn more about oz.

Wednesday 26th January 2011 - AUSTRALIA DAY

Early hungover start to the day to see a flag raising ceremony, which was good except for the fact I didn't know the people who were talking/singing about Australia.

Met up with Steph and Tristan and watched the coolest parade ever full of foreigners celebrating takingover australia - love it. 3 military soldiers fainted during the flag raising too, something funny about soldiers falling down. hehe (it wasn't even a hot day).

Had midday aussie day beers in an aussie pub, followed by a aussie barby, in a aussie house ,with 1 aussie, 2 lux and a another brit and a aussie dog.

Ended the day watching fed square fireworks with dot dot.

Awesome day, completely full on and genuinley cool. I got a flag too! woo

Guess what I did? Applied for another load of jobs that I probably won't hear from. Got a email from melbs boat exhibition telling me they'd of offered me a job, but unfortunately they have enough people. Lovely lol

Walked my doggies for only $5, scandalous I know! (should get the rest of my pay tomorrow)

Met up with dot dot and had my first Indian aussie meal at Reddy's kitchen. (thought of the reddy family back home as i tucked into my meal) lol. It was good food.

Searched accomodation for dot dot, helped him get a house by ringing myself pretending to be a awful potential housemate.

Every cloud has a silver lining! I awoke to two phonecalls, a chilcare agency willing to help me find work and a warehouse willing to give me a slave job. Warehouse interview is on monday, gives me enough time to work out what I need to know about a warehouse job. Got time now to get moving for a childcare job to hopefully start after nz.

Walked my doggies, did some washing and enjoyed not having to jobsearch. Looking forward to a chilled weekend and i'm going to moonee ponds baptist church on sunday. Decided it is time to start my random church mission up again, website looks good so we'l see.

spent my eve with dot dot drinking/celebrating job hunting - not really a celebration but the drink was cheap and well the bar was chilled out and it's friday.

Moonee Ponds baptist Church 2pm service, according to the website it's a great time for worship. It was also 42 degrees outside, i'm sorry to moan but it's seriously hot!. lol Church was werid as per usual, people singing at the front could not sing and sounded like tweety pie. It amused me for a while, the preacher forgot to prepare a sermon so decided to talk about self control as he's studying this at the moment - awesome. The preacher or whatever he was, was quite an interesting person, he and his wife have just adopted a toddler from Indonesia and brought him home. The child had cornflakes today for the first time ever! First time i've ever met someone who has adopted from abroad and well it was definately a new experience.

After the service there was icecream, fruit salad and tea, yummy and no chairs, we sat on the dirty floor, but never mind. The church had a crap air con too we had to use fans.It was a odd place to be on such a hot day and eating icream. Not the weridest church i've been, but i doubt i'm going back.

Eve - Kevin will be pleased, i went to see the tennis final and wasn't it a bad evening. Murray played an awful game, he's defo scotish not british now he lost. I didn't pay btw, i watched at fed square but apparently some of the nights were only $20 to watch at a arena. It's just unfortunate it took me till the last 2 weeks to get into the tennis. lol

I'm waiting for AFl (assue rules footy) to start in March, that's defo something I will pay to watch.

Dog walking. Still around 42 degrees. Warehouse Interview for dentist products, not retail as advertised. Gave the impression I have the job. They didn't seem impressed I was going nz but you never know, Doesn't seem a hard job, is only 1.5hrs from where i'm currently staying. lol

Dyed my hair with the cheapest hair dye ever $3.59 bargain - i was getting bored

Visited dot dots new house in kew that he's sharing with a interesting welsh guy. Still 42 degrees heat, managed to collapsee and have bruised my legs - pretty awesome brusing.

Got myself in a odd situation left in a room for 3 hrs avoiding the housemate, not sure if i've explained how dot dot got the house, but me ending up in a room for 3 hrs had something to do with the housemate. complicated story that i will explain another day.

Eve - met Wina for dumplings and tea, she's moved back from Sydney yay, was good to meet up and chat about everything as usual. Met up with dot dot afterwards for a drink by the river.

Dog walking

Met dot dot for chips and drank a bottle of wine on the beach at port melbourne to watch the sun go down. I am aware of how comon that sounds, first time for everything i guess.
