Back in Alphington for 3 more weeks as I can't afford the rent so I move out around the 23rd to Clems for a bit to save money. Finances are pretty tough as i've now realised i'm basically ermm...broke near enough. Haven't been this stuck for cash in well a long long time, even uni wasn't this hard. Looks like it will be cheap nasty food for a while.Got a job in as a waitress to hopefully do a trial thursday or friday, cash in hand, exta dollars woo.

Friday 7th January 2011

More training and then out on the street. Haven't heard from the waitressing job. Spent my eve with dot dot sleeping outside the state library. I did go home at somepoint, there was no cardboard boxes spare! (joke)Went to waitressing job to be told I should be starting sunday for a trial, told me what to wear and said theyl call to confirm. Starting to seem as though they are fobbing me off as it seeming a bit fishy.

Saturday 8th January 2011

Went waitressing job to confirm for the last time before giving up if i'm starting tomorrow. All i got from a girl is we'l get her to call you. Funny she didn't know my name so i'm guessing they changed theyre mind the day i first went in.

Had dinner with Leona and her family which was nice and then met up with clem to beg a favour and have a drink. It was fun drinking water all night.

Monday 10th - Friday 14th 2011

Worked in the city, prahan and preston, passed my eval and i'm pleased as it's a job i feel strongly about and want to be good at. I think i could actually make a difference and learn/deal with alot of things through it. In preston I had a brew in a old fire station that was converted to a cafe, awesome. PLus it means I can look foward to some good food when i finally get paid and pay off my rent. yay lol I've done well this week and lived off $60 till now since saturday, i'd say that's quite good going.

Spent some of my day hanging around the city, chatting to strange men on trains who work in museums i've never been to. There's something quite amazing about making conversation with a complete random and I learn't a whole lot of useless info about a printing museum and why it happens to be relocating.

Met up with Steph, Pete, his european housemates and Joel and spent my afternoon/eve in St.Kilda getting merry at the beach and then even more merry in a very perculiar backpackers hostel. Dancing to music i've never heard of and drank more than I should have drank.

Sunday 16th January 2011

When it's sooo hot there's only one place to finish the weekend, back at St.Kilda beach. This time sober and sunbathing, was meant to catch up with steph but modern technology died so it did not happen. I did however randomly walk from St.Kilda to Port Melbourne for no reason whatsoever, met a few strange fitness freaks and saw the ferry come in and hundreds of cars drive off it.

Monday 17th to Tuesday 18th January 2011

Worked in the cbd after messing up on monday. One should never trust a foreigner to find her way to Packenham in zone 2 at a very early hour of the morning, nor by means of public transport. Lesson learn't = don't believe public transport is your friend or that people will help you go the right way. I got lost and to add to that mean't the person I worked with wasn't exactly my best bud all day. Tuesday I managed my usual of not having a job by the end of the day and nearly having no voice. Never had so many men look at me like i'm a piece of meat or been bashed by so many brollies or spat at or had someone smoke a pipe in my face. Probably not a job for me, but at least i'm getting paid for this one. On the plus side I found a new place to hang out in the library and by purely standing next to a seat got a fitness instructor in trouble by the librarian. It was a shame he was made to vacate the seat for me, I was happy to stand and daydream.

Wednesday 19th January 2011

Applied for ridiculous amounts of jobs including; a dog walker - got an interview on sat, a dog washer, waiting to hear back if I can really be employed for that. cafe worker, bar worker which turned out to be rather seedy and sound more like prostitution at only $16 per hour too. All in all not a bad day of searching. I went on a pub hunt in Essendon for an irish bar, couldn't find it so walked from Queens park to Flemmington just for the fun of it. (walking is free!)

Thursday 20th January 2011

Walked to Northcote shopping plaza to use the atm, again just because its free to walk and i had nothing better to do than get a tan whislt walking. Bought a glass of milk and nearly spilt it all over myself cos a fool filled it up too much. Spent time doing very little except applying for more jobs and being lazy, before going for another random walk to the boathouse. I saw 5 families having bbqs, I do like that idea of a barby in a aprk on a summers night.

Friday 21st January 2011

After 2 nights of having the most itchiest feet in the whole wide world and wondering why i now know. I awoke to a heck of alot of mozzie bites all over my feet, made worse by me frantically itching. lol SPent the day trying to get rid of them.

Had a chilled out day of skyping, washing, planning new zealand and working out just where in the middle of nowhere some places really will be. Watched Dr.Phil on tv, beats Jeremy Kyle any day, saw a bit of Ellen and even Oprah although I can't say I was really watching Oprah. Her OZ travel thing has been quite good though when she hasn't been talking.

Tried new fruits my housemate left me - apricot and a plum i think, not bad at all.

Last day at Alphington House

Job interview at south yarra for a dog walker, got job and start walking 2 gorgeous springer spaniels on monday yay

Hung around the cith being extremely bored waiting for plans that didnt happen, eventually ended up in the old hostel pub for a couple of beers.

Early night to prepare for moving day.
