In Barcelona, expect to sleep on top of your sheets, if possible, infront of a fan or air conditioning system. The food is marvelous : tapas, paella, gazpacho ... but dont go to the touristic restaurants because you will be disappointed. The city has a vast bohemian culture to it which is oh so nice and hippie. Modern Gaudi architecture makes this destination so unique. Its surprising that such revolutionary styles could have been thoght up for 100 years ago. The famour Sagrada Familia is by far the most impressive, alternative cathedral ever. It definitely distinguishes itself from the strict classical styles, that are impressive but daunting at the same time. The beaches in the city are dirty, yes, but that is expected. The water is oh so warm. Be warned of Mar Bella, or more like, forget your bathing suit at home and embrace all sort of sexual preferences. Rely on the metro system, it is very impressive and can take you in walking distance of any of your destinations in the city. Las Ramblas, the most famous street in the city is composed of tourists, pick pocketters and busquers. Try and attend any music concert, and bring your sunglasses because the party dont stop till the fat woman sings.
