Hamburg, a city where a little bit of dirt is cool. From the notorious Reeperbahm where sex shops and hookers mingle with thousands of drunktards and broken glass litters the ground to the upscale Neuer Wall where you can find real CHannel sunglasses and Cartier diamonds and get kicked out of a store if the clerk doesn´t think you´ll buy anything (As IF!). THen to the beautiful botanical gardens of Plantenum Biomen where you can sit and chat on an imported Japanese temple as the sun rises then head to the fish market that stretches for miles. At night you can dance past the sun comes up in a WWII bunker or chat and drink on the hip Sterchanschanze. Hamburg is a place where the country´s history is still thought of and resulted in the people to be harsh at first glance. Expect to find sexist Pissers (place for pissing) in crowded areas and to get served last at a restaurant if you do not speak the language. But also expect the people to be very eager to talk once you get aquainted and very willing to share their culture with you.
