Puerto Madryn and Pennisula Valdes
After BA we ventured down south to Puerto Madryn with the sole intention of going to Pennisula Valdes to do Whale spotting - one of Svens ´must do things!´. As soon as we arrived, we jumped straight onto a tour to the pennisula and kitted out in our hats and scarves we ventured out to sea to spot those Southern Rights!
The tour didnt fail to disappoint we saw so many whales and some of their babies - it was absolutely brilliant! We managed to see them from the shore where they came scarily close and then also out at sea on the boat trip. We braved the waves and the freezing cold to see these strange, quite ugly creatures in their natural breeding grounds. When they came out of the water they made this kind of moaning sounds, which was really surreal but incredible. They were massive in size and covered in barnacles like they had been sitting still in the sea for ages!
After the trip we decided to move on fairly quickly as there wasnt much more to see or do around the town and we´re on a fairly tight schedule to get round the massive distances in Argentina. So off we headed to Bariloche!
