Visited Ulva neat Stuart Island at the very south of NZ. A magical place, a nature reserve that they keep free of outside predators and allow the NZ fauna to thrive, saw lots of strange birds and fabulous deserted beaches.

Visited Milford Sound today, probably the most spectacular scenery we have seen, a large fjord with mountains all around, one came down 3000 ft in one sheer drop awesome! There is no way photoessays can do it justice but took about 100 anyway!

Had A day in Dunedin, another lovely town around a bay. Is supposed to be like Edinburg there were lots of scotish names and a pipe band to see us off. Went on a train trip Taieri gorge on of the " great railway journeys" it was a spectacular trip up to the plateau behind the town.

Visited Akaroa today, beautiful and spectacular, went out to look for dolphins and they came to play with the boat, frolicking and jumping in front of the bow - spectacular !

First stop, a lovely place, spectacular mountains close to the sea that plunge down to deep ocean contains sperm whales. The boat has no Internet in NZ so this is being sent from a Wi Fi cafe, could be some time before the journal resumes! Sorry.
