We rolled off the ferry to a black sky, wind and it was trying to rain. Ourselves and all the other cyclists came off first but were then told to wait. Shortly afterwards we were escorted through the port by a white van bypassing passport control straight onto the road into Calais. We fought a raging side wind to our first French supermarket where Donna looked at what gourmet delights we could rustle up on the stove. Such a choice of bread on their list but they only had one loaf left! Reached the campsite full! went onto another campsite, they had a look in their reguster to see if they had a pitch and they did - just one. Why on earth they had to check is beyond us, we walked around the site and there was only one camping pitch the rest was permanently parked caravans and mobile homes. The sun came out and we cooked under a shelter in the playground sheltered from the wind. A very quiet night in France.
