We didn't stop at Rijeka, just passed through (thank goodness as it's a dump), just used it as a blog location to get our route line on the map going the right way before turning south. Great weather from Pula to Moscenicka Draga, but from 2.30 pm when we arrived to 3.30pm the temperature seemed to plummet. Most of the apartments we are booking are summer destinations and the heating is inadequate to warm them well, so we are streaming films whilst wrapped up in blankets each evening. The coastline has been well worth the ride but from Rijeka to Split we don't expect great things. We have been looking at ferries, trains and car hire to skip this bit but they either aren't running, don't allow bikes or aren't available, so we keep pedalling. Inevitably Donna also has a sore throat, bad chest and cold now as well. Donna tells me off for wiping my nose on my gloves but it's not easy for me to reach into my barbag for my handkerchief whilst trying to keep us upright and on the road, especially on a fast descent or slow climb (when keeping a straight line is not easy). So i continue to use my gloves, and Donna continues to scold me! Today the sunshine has disappeared and it's been grey all day, rain is on the way but we are hoping to keep ahead of it. I forgot to mention that at Rovinj we arrived early so the apartment owner arranged for a friend to check us in. The friend had recently returned from the island of Vis where he was helping with the filming of Mamma Mia 2 (set in Greece but filmed in Croatia). Must dash Donna's about to serve dinner.
