Langhorne creek was our first real "independent camping" experience at the Frank Potts reserve. No power, no water, no heating. Due to it being winter, most parks have been really cheap to stay in. Mostly kids have been free and a further 10% off so we have been really lucky. Given the weather has been sunny but cold I am fond of the heater on in the van.
Langhorne creek is set in wine country. Our first night we had dinner in a real country pub. It was great. The Camp ground had no power or water but a toilet which was handy. We ran out of battery on the first night because the plug that charges the battery whilst we have power had somehow come loose. Anyhow we loved it so much there we ended up staying 3 nights (even without power). We visited Strathalbyn for a day, a gorgeous historical town and spent the day looking around the old buildings and churches. We had a platter at a winery (there went the money we saved on free camping) and Cameron dared Riley to eat a whole baby octopus for $2, he did it. Now he constantly wants us to dare him to eat all kinds of things. For the money of course!
