Adventure begins...in style!

We arrive in Bangkok without a hitch, then the fun begins!

After bustling our way through the hoards of eager but not offensively pushy taxi touts, we finally manage to find a legit metered rank and are off....although when we ask for the meter to be turned on, laughter is the only response! 2 hours later our "40 min" journey comes to an end, we made it to Lebua.

Lavish doesn't even come close, our 1 night of endulgence before "roughing it" was truley special! After a quick change we transformed from grubby backpackers to high society lovelies and headed for the roof top sky bar!!! Breathtaking views and a magical atmosphere was topped pff nicely with a cocktail...or 2! It was then on to the Breeze bar, complete with colour changing glass bridge for a couple more before retiring to the biggest bed in the world!!!

The next morning we ordered a cheeky room service breakfast, before heading off to "backpackersville". We made it, no thanks to the driver whose taxi was seatbeltless and three near misses! Now came the task of finding somewhere to stay. We walked aimlessley, gradually melting under the combination of humidity plus heavy backpacks. To the various touts we were fresh meat..."NO I DO NOT WANT A BLOODY TAILORED SUIT, THANK YOU!"

Rambuttri Village guest house came to our rescue, or at least was in the right place when we finally collapsed! 5 minutes later, after checking in, we were having Lebua withdrawals...at least we stole the soap!

This evening we had our first truly Thai meal, whilst watching the world go by on the infamous Kao San road, an eye opener to say the least..."is that a boy or a girl?!?!".

Hopefully not all our blogs will be quite this long, stick with us, we'll get the hang of condensing in the end! Until next time...x x
