Tom's Global Adventure
After looking for ages I've finally managed to get a bar/waitering job through another agency so I have now got an evening job as well my day job to help me save up for my next bit of travelling as there is so much that I want to do.
I was working in the VIP guest box on Saturday at Sydneys mains race horse track in Randwick which was cool because I've never been to the races before and I got the best view of the track there was while I was working.
On my first night of waitering on Friday I was put on a boat to work for a business party of 110 Indians which was probably not the best sort of job to have on your first day as the boat was rocking a fare bit and I was trying to carry glasses on a tray up and down the stairs and I also had to explain everything about 5 times as they couldn't understand me that well. It was quite funny though because some of them wanted a warm beer instead of the cold one I gave them so I had to go and leave a box out and they also had lemon in every beer they had which must be disgusting but they seemed to like it anyway.
At the end of the trip when the boat docked the party was in full swing and one block was made to get off because he was being sick over the side of the boat! They then decided they wanted to pay extra and go out for another hour by which time I was exhausted so the lady in charge of us just told us to get off really quickly before we were made to stay on again which was really lucky.
I'm starting to plan my trip up the east coast now so that I know how much money I need to save and stuff so I think I'm going to have to work 6 full days a week up till about Christmas to do everything I want to.
Got to go but speak to you soon.
Tom
