Tom's Global Adventure
Hi everyone. I'v just sorted out my appartment for the next three months sharing with my mate Michael who's from global adventures as well and two Scottish girls who we havn't met yet. It's located in one of the Suburbs around Sydney called Bondi and is only a 10 minute walk away from the beach. We could have got one about 5 minutes away but we didn't like the room very much and there wasn't a lounge area or anything.
I'v been so busy lately sorting out my visa, tax number and setting up a new bank account and moving into a big city, I'm looking forward to settling down a bit and not have to just live out of my rucksack the whole time.
The backpackers that I'm now staying in is really cool though and is located in the centre of the city surrounded by loads of restaurents, clubs, shops and a 10 minute walk away from the harbour and bridge etc.
The weathers been really good now and it's probably how England is in summer but it's only late spring here so it should get really hot! I was going to go up to Darwin and Cairns but I thought I'd work for about three months and save up a bit more money because my accounts getting used up fast!
I'v got to do a training course tomorrow in order to get my bar license which means that I'l can serve alcahol as it is illegal over here to work being a bar if you do not have one. Once I'v got it though I'm hoping to work in a lively area maybe in the centre or by the bay which should be good fun.
Yesterday I climbed up the Sydney harbour bridge with Michael and it was wicked! It cost a lot of money but it's not something you can do every day and the experence was brilliant. We went up at about 6pm so in was dark then and all the city was lit up as you can see from the photo. We weren't actually allowed to bring our own cameras up onto the bridge incase we dropped them but the guide had one so I took a picture of the photo she took which is why the quality doesn't look that good.
Hope everyones good back at home because it's so good out here.
Speak soon
Tom
