Tom's Global Adventure
Hey everyone sorry I haven't written in so long! I have been so busy working and travelling don't really have much spare time!
I'm still enjoying the work at GAP (environmental organisation) and have made really good friends with everybody that works there. We have planted hundreds of seeds into individual bags now and they have started getting delivered to different areas where they will be left to grow a bit and then olanted into the ground. Last week I worked with a crazy cool guy called Joas in a massive rain downpoor on the side of a hill digging holes and planting trees into them which was really cool but very wet!
Everyday we pick diffent types of fresh fruit off the trees at work and eat them. There are so many different fruits and foods that I have eaten here that in England I had never even heard of and because they are all so fresh it makes them taste even nicer!
This weekend 7 of us from work went on a 3 day treck through the Parque Nacional da Chapada Diamantina. The walking was amazing and so much fun!
It's not really a marked out route and there's hardely a path so some parts of it were really hard work and I ended up with a lot of cuts on my legs from low branches and thorn bushes and fighting to get through the undergrowth but it was still good fun walking through it and having to cross rivers and seeing loads of beautifull water falls!
We camped out under the stars both nights but had to escape back into the tents because this weekend it decided to have rain every night but it was still good fun.
I have almost 400 pics to put on my website but because of the internet being slow I'm going to send them all home on a CD so you should see them in the next few weeks on my site.
Speak to you soon
Tom
