So i finally departed the east coast and made my way inland....to the outback. Flying from Cairns with no clouds in the sky, you could see just how bloody empty the inside of this country is! And now i have reached the top......of Queensland that is! After the Whitsundays i sadly had to say goodbye to my two buddies Joe and Phil, who'd i'd been with for 6 weeks or so, and also the two girls who i'd been with for a total of four weeks! Hello everybody, so here is another bit of lovely info on my trip up the east coast. After leaving old Brissie, we had a nice three consecutive days on the Oz bus. Obviuosly we did stuff inbetween though. Such as stopping off for didgeridoo experiences, and scooter-rooing, and lawn bowls of all things! The scooter-rooing was excellent. Basically, jump on a scooter, race around at 70kmph (45mph) on the roads and look for kangaroos! Certainly satisfied my car ...

Into Queensland we went...the sunshine state! Southern queensland is very much the most populated part and is mainly a collection of high rise towns and cities such as the Gold Coast. On the Oz bus though, we stopped at a little town called Nimbin, the drugs and hippie capital of Oz! I think i got offered weed about ten times in ten minutes! Byron Bay, what can i say? Not a lot really, cos i can't remember a lot of it!!! Lol. I think we discovered possibly one of the best nightspots on the east coast here: Cheeky Monkeys. Nightly games, prizes, good music, cheap food.....and cheap drinks! A recipe for sucess, or illness. It was a great laugh though, and we met some great people, including lots of fun canadians.
