We started our journey to Queenstown with a visit to Puzzling World. Here we saw optical illusions, holograms, 3-d puzzles and the 'hobbit room', before tackling the maze (SPOILER: all you have toi do is hold your left hand against the wall at all times, you'll find all four corners and the exit his way - it's Greek).
Closer to Queenstown we stopped at the Kawerau Bridge, the sight of the first commercial bungy jump. After watching the video on the origins of bungy jumping, and not wanting to disappoint my adoring fans, I joined those few daring sould who would willingly abandon the safety of a perfectly stable bridge for the dubious comfort of an elastic band. Strictly it's a 43m jump, but with a bit of water it's more like 45m. Scary too - ask me for the DVD!
On arrival in Q'town we had a group photo by the lake, and a night at Altitude and World Bar.
Next day it was time for some 'river boarding'. Essentially, you have a wetsuit, body-board and some fins and swim downstream in the river. The best bits? Rapids, whirlpools and the slide at the end (go down backwards, it's great).
