Woke up early for a bus from Ho Chi Min to Mui Ne. The bus was a sleeper, so had reclined chairs in stacks of two high. Me and tom were put at the back of the bus next to 3 other back packers. Most of the other people on the bus were Vietnamese and it looked like they had put all the tourists together at the back with (debatably) worse seats. It turned out well though as we got real reslly well with the other guys. There was Simon, a 30 y/o doctor from Ireland that was travelling through Asia. The other two were French Canadians called Matt and Daniel, both about 30. These two Canadians were hilarious and incredibly sarcastic. They both lives in Montreal, with Matt working in finance and Daniel working as a comedian, having just released a comedy TV show that was being shown regionally in Canada. We got on really well with these guys and had all booked at the same backpackers hostel. After the 4 hour journey we got to the hostel and chilled out for a bit before going for a walk down the beach. Simon was keen to learn how to kite surf and so was inquiring at prices. Me and Tom were interested but prices were about €40/hour, and so would damage the budget. We strolled back to the hostel and chilled in the pool with other people staring at there. Unfortunately this was the first day that Imodium was required, and so drinking a lot was out of the question. From our hostel we popped over the road to its bigger sister establishment, which seemed to be the most popular place in town for people travelling. We got some food there and sat around drinking with more people we met. Once a fair few beverages had been consumed people took to the swimming pool and stayed around messing in there until about 11 when the places started to close down. We went back to the hostel we were staying in and laid on some loungers overlooking the sea with some American girls we had met at the pool party. We stayed overlooking the sea for a while looking at the sky, the amount of stars was seriously impressive, and just as people were starting to dose off there was a shooting star that flew over the sea. Gnarly.
