I drank a fair bit and woke up the next day feeling awful. I had got really dehydrated and felt awful for the rest of the day. I went down onto the beach and paid some money to be allowed to go on some giant inflatables in the water. It was really good fun but dehydrated me even more, to the extent where I had to go back to hostel and lay in a cold dark room.
We were only staying in Nh Trang for one night before driving to Hoi An so we weren't doing much anyway. Nha Trang was more just a stop over point for us with very little sight seeing or tours to be done. I managed to survive the day and get onto the bus at 7. The night bus was to take us into Hoi An for the morning. Things started ok, me and Tom got good seats. But things quickly deteriorated. At around 7:30 a child of about 3 began to wail. Full on lung blasting. This continued for many hours, basically non stop. We still struggle to understand where this little girl found the strength but it was awful. I now know what hell sounds like, as this child's crying was the most terrible long term sound I have ever heard. The reason why the sound is so bad is because it isn't monotonous. When the child felt that her mother/someone/anyone wasn't listening she would scream louder and change pitch. This made it impossible to filter out the sound or listen to music over the top. At some point the crying stopped (maybe 2/3 hours) and we finally got some sleep for the rest of the 12 hour journey.
