Waking up on Paradise Island at 7 to leave the island by 8. Everyone was feeling a little worse for wear after a big night. We left the island around 8 to reach our main big boat and head back to the mainland. While on our big boat we had a cooking course in how to roll spring rolls. We had a really good last lunch on the ship before reaching the mainland and taking the bus back to Hanoi. We arrived back around 4, having slept a little on the bus. I talked to some of other guys on the trip and 7 of them were planning on getting bikes at some point to ride South. When we got back to the hostel they were staying in the same place so offered one of the guys, Frank, to have a look at the bike. He had a chat with his friends to make sure they were all still up for getting bikes, and then came and had a look. The bike had been sat still for 3 days so didn't start perfectly but was running fine within 5mins. The price of bikes was much lower in Hanoi than the south due to so many more sellers (the majority of backpackers travel from south to North) and so agreed on a price of $150, having bought it for $270. It was a fairly big hit but we were running out of time and it was just one more thing to worry about. To put it into perspective I paid £80 for the experience of riding the bike for half the country, which really doesn't like a lot. After selling the bike I was back in the hostel preparing for the night bus to Sapa that night for our 3 day trip. The bus picked us up at 9pm and I slept the whole way to Sapa, getting there at 6am.
