this was just wicked!! we met up with our group the first day we arrived and got everthing sorted for our trip, buying in all our shopping and planning our very vague itinary.

an early start the second day, up before 6 to pack the toyota 4x4 land cruiser (ensuring the seven crates of tooheys were properly secured!). caught our ferry over to the island and began our adventure as tom took the wheel to drive down the dirt tracks through the forests. took our time the first day to visit lake mackenzie (the very white beach and clear lake on our photos), just how you would imagine paradise!! we then ventured onto lake wabby - again just an amazing view as you can check out on our photos. we then picked up pace putting our foot down along the beach. driving down the beach in a 4x4 at 80 kmph, definately makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up!

we set up camp for the first night right on the beach, cooked up the barbe and through on a few shrimps!! played drinking games, sang a few songs and had a real laugh - everyone was wicked! a french guy christophe kept us entertained - brilliant bloke! rest of the group made up of two english medical students (which was reassuring), two dutch girls, another french bloke and a nice couple from essex.

second day much the same, visiting more amazing views as we wondered up to indian head and took a visit to the champagne pools...nice to chill out here for a bit. another great day driving, even hayley took the wheel for a short while pulling a u-ey a bit too fast and nearly rolled the jeep!! all good fun though.

all together just a great adventure..definately up there with the best bits of our trip. nice now to be back in amongst what we now call our home comforts, that is a bed, toilet and a shower!!

well were heading up the coast further tomorrow morning as we continue this amazing trip. were heading to a small island retreat called great keppel (a recommendation we took) to chill out for four days - much needed after fraser.
