well we've continued our journey up the coast from port macquarie through a very quiet place called coffs harbour. we had booked a couple of nights here and really didn't do much but lay beside the pool and visit the beach. we then travelled up to a cool beach town called byron bay. here we experienced our 1st nightmare...we were lying on the beach soaking up the sun mid afternoon and the sky began to gather cloud, as the evening set in it turned grey and even rained!!!! :( anyway, enough of that - don't want to make you guys feel good. the following day we hired a couple of bikes and took a cycle round the bay up to lighthouse point where we had hoped to see some whales. unfortunately no whales but a beautiful view as we stood at australia's most easterly point. spent the rest of the evening booking up all of our activities and adventures for the remainder of our australia trip. we're heading to fraser island, sailing and living aboard a sailing boat round the whitsundays for a few days, then further north for white water rafting, snorkelling the great barrier reef and a trip out into cape tribulation - and all this before our outback trek which will take us through the big red rock and down to adelaide (hoping all this will keep us out of mischief). anyway for us... next destination - surfers paradise! xxx
