At last, a sunny day. We descended in to cockle creek via a bone shaking dirt road which rewarded us with greenly lush empty campsites, water the clarity of glass and fellow family travelers. It was hot enough when we arrived that we all went for a swim in the calm green waters. We met another family who had already set up camp. Natasha and Duncan have been traveling for 10 months now, doing the same as us but with two younger boys. I was a bit envious that they had managed to not work the whole time but as Natasha said, they had no house to think of either. They have had a wonderful time by the sounds, staying a week at a time in most places.
The actual Cockle Creek is the prettiest inlet I have seen- super clear water and gentle shoals at low tide. The water is surprisingly warm, so it's snorkel time tomorrow, after school, of course.
